Arab rulers chose Shiraz as the capital city of their militants for over 2 centuries which was resulted in building number of sites you can see now in the city. After Arabs, the country and consequently Shiraz was invaded by Mongolians which was happily was not a disaster for Shiraz because of rulers decision accepting to pay taxes to Mongols.During this era city was the center of trades and exports of famous Iranian products including Shirazi wine to India and other countries.

After Al Booyeh Shiraz was again chosen as the capital city of Iran this time by Karim Khan the founder of Zandiyeh dynasty and continued it's growth and development.Picture below is castle remained form this time which is kept fresh and seems to be untouched .

Shiraz was also developed rapidly in Pahlavi era specially Reza Khan during which it was turned into the center of Iranian modern science and civil development. After the Islamic revolution in 1979,the city like all the other cities in Iran, expanded to a large extent, the reason of which was the mass immigration from villages to the cities.
