About Sofeh mountain
Sofeh is a mountain nearby Isfahan, a city in central Iran. In fact, it’s part of the city located in the south part and can be seen from every point of the city. The mountain and the area around is covered with green zones and some entertainment infrastructures such as cable car, playgrounds, sport fields and a zoo . Therefore , Sofeh has become an attractive destination for the people of Isfahan. People of the city normally pack up for having a picnic with the family somewhere around the green zones.
Sofeh mount is actually a trace of a long mountain range called Zagros trailing from north of Iran to the south. The pick of the mountain is about 2257 meter above the sea level and elevation of the city is almost 1590 meter meaning that the mount is 658 meter high.
Hiking Sofeh Mount
The mountain is actually a big rock surrounded by hills.Seen from the north side, it looks like a very challenging mount and truly, it is a challenging hike from this side. Because of that , many hikers and rock climbers love to give it a try and challenge themselves. However, normal people can have a fascinating hike from this side through the rocks without being challenged too much. Despite it’s being quite a tough hike form the northern side, from southern side it’s all a steep hill all the way near the summit and around the summit, a short distance to the pick is a rocky structure, as a result, it’s possible for everyone to hike this mount.
